COVID-19 struck again! Thankfully, these two handled it like champs. There’s something to be said about eloping and especially elopement photography in Lubbock Texas. Yes, some people dream of that big extravagant wedding with hundreds of your friends and family. Partying well into the night. Great food, great dancing. There are several reasons to elope, a big price tag of a traditional wedding being one of them. Other reasons, however, are a lot more personal.
Say you want to say your vows with only your spouse in front of you in a location that means something to you, and not a wedding venue that pumps out hundreds of weddings a year. Eloping allows that. Or, maybe you want your dog involved and the stress of a ton of people will have him freaking out. Eloping also allows that. Maybe there is family drama and you might have a fight or two break out if certain people are in the same room together. Eloping totally fixes that!
When Kayla and Jodi told me that they were changing their already small, intimate wedding to an elopement with just the two of them, myself and their officiant, I was so excited. Eloping has a very special place in my heart and I love it when couples take their big day into their own hands and do what they want.
These two said their vows together, not distracted by anything around them, and were just there in the moment together. It was absolutely beautiful! They chose a quiet local park for their venue and a gorgeous view of the Appalachian mountains as their backdrop. Afterward, we walked around the park together for some great intimate shots.
